There are some interesting WWII fortifications by the coastal car park at Bawdsey but the only entry in Pevsner, other than the Church, is the Martello Tower from 1810 - 12 shown here from land and coast.  An isolated part of Bawdsey, near the famous Manor where radar was developed during WW2 and opposite Felixstowe Ferry, has a good cafe and a small sandy beach populated by families on warm sunny days.
