Pictures of buildings mentioned in the “Suffolk” volume of “The Buildings of England” series by Sir Nikolaus Pevsner.

Difficult to be certain of those described in several cases.  The timber-framed cottages “on the r side ...” are not as numbered in the book.  Furthermore one carries the name “Levells Hall” which is not mentioned. Some other cottages in nearby Duke Street are not mentioned but are shown here as street scenery.  The Kings Head and those close by are similarly uncertain as was Garrod’s Farmhouse.

Today, we may not find the Clock Tower quite as hideous as described.

The Crown is a respected restaurant.
