Pictures of buildings mentioned in the “Suffolk” volume of “The Buildings of England” series by Sir Nikolaus Pevsner.

A pleasant small town near the Norfolk border with an air of timelessness about it.  As is sometimes the case, despite the need to get on with taking photographs (especially in November when the light is limited), distractions can occur when a decent lunch venue presents itself.  The Earsham Street Cafe is recommended, but as a result the Upper Olland St buildings were yet to be covered after the first visit.

Things were better organised in June 2010 which started with lunch at the same cafe but then allowed the Upper Olland St buildings to be added before moving on to Roos Hall in nearby Beccles.  A couple of other photographs were updated in the better light but time did not allow more.  The Butter Cross had lost its scaffolding as well, which was an improvement.
