Pictures of buildings mentioned in the “Suffolk” volume of “The Buildings of England” series by Sir Nikolaus Pevsner.

A bracketed entry (p420 of second edition), meaning it was not in the first edition.  The second edition says “Nuclear Power Station.  By Sir Frederick Gibberd, 1961-6, for the C.E.G.B.  Clad in aluminium.  It is the sixth commercial nuclear power station in Britain’s first nuclear power programme.  A second power station is in 1974 only at plan stage”.

The station mentioned must be Sizewell A and is the building on the right.  The ‘second power station only at the plan stage in 1974’ must be Sizewell B, represented here by the white dome.  Sizewell A stopped generating electricity in 2006 and is now being decommissioned.
