South Elmham St Peter

Pictures of buildings mentioned in the second edition “Suffolk” volume of “The Buildings of England” series by Sir Nikolaus Pevsner.

Just one entry after the church fo It has been suggested that they came from the demolished cr St. Peter's Hall of which Pevsner says "A baffling building. It is of stone, not of flint, and has a chimneybreast apparently early Tudor. On the other hand the three-light Gothic windows of various design are clearly not domestic. It has been suggested that they came from the demolished church of South Elmham St. Nicholas or from Flixton Priory. The flushwork emblems and monograms certainly are a familiar motif of Suffolk parish churches. The entrance (N) side has not been much altered since Suckling's day".
